How To Watch Downton Abbey Season 4 in the U.S.!

agoldenafternoon.com

*So happy to report that it WORKED and you are now able to view previous episodes for up to one month.  Information and links below!!!!*

Hi Downton Abbey Fans!

I know everyone is excited about the new season starting September 22, 2013 at 9pm in the UK! After last years disappointing season, I know we are all anxious for a bit of happiness, right?  Hopefully, nobody will die this season.  That would be amazing. What do you think will happen?!

If you started following my posts last year for Season 3 from this post, thanks so much for sticking around with me this last year! I have received MANY requests and dare I say a plea or two to share if and HOW I plan on sharing Season 4.  Last season, I did no more than provide a place where you could find all of the links in one place.  The videos are not hosted by my blog and I have no control over them.

I have no ethical issue watching this show through legal internet means.  People in the UK are able to watch the shows after they air in the same way that we can watch them on PBS here in the U.S. after they air.  Because of the internet, the rules change in a big way.  The way I view it, people in the UK are watching them legally online, therefore I should be able to, even if an ocean away.  I, personally, pay for all of my music and movies legally and never attempt to break the law.  I see the attempt to keep this out of our hands, a way to make more money and put pretend barriers up for the U.S. from the UK. What?  Craziness.

ANYWAY, you guys really just want to know how to watch, right?

**PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be patient with each option.  Not every option will work for every person simply because of your specific computer/setup.  Try each option more than once until you find one that works!**

How to watch in the U.S. (5 options!):

OPTION 1: This option includes any extra videos and behind the scenes option on ITV!

*Update* I changed the information below to a step-by-step process once I watched the first episode all the way through!

Here’s what you need to do to get Downton Abbey to play on your PC:

1. Download Tunnel Bear here. You will need to pay the $4.99/month to get enough data for the season.  No biggie in the long run! Tunnel Bear is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) which changing your IP address to reflect that of someone in the UK.

2. Confirm Tunnel Bear by e-mail.

3. Once you are signed in to Tunnel Bear, turn the knob you see to “on”.  It will say “connected”.

4. Now, set the country option to “United Kingdom”.  Your computer will now be compatible with the region showing Downton Abbey.

5. Go to http://www.itv.com/itv/

You’ll need a postal code to access the ITV player on the website.  Use any of the ones on this list.  If one doesn’t work, try another.

6.  To watch the shows already aired Season 4 episodes, go to the ITV website’s Downton Abbey page:

https://www.itv.com/itvplayer/downton-abbey/

To watch the show live as it airs in the UK at 1pm Pacific Standard Time, go here to watch the live streaming ITV player:

http://www.itv.com/itv/

6. Make sure you turn Tunnel Bear to “off” when not watching Downton as you want your computer to know which country it is really in. :)

7.  Hopefully, you’re smiling and watching Downton!  If not, “like” and check my facebook page here for loads of questions answered, as well as the comments below.

OPTION 2:

1. Download this firefox add-on Media Hint here (great success and safe!!) or this VPN from here to give you a UK IP address to access UK shows instantly.

2. Go back and follow steps 5-7

OPTION 3:

How to watch Downton Abbey Season three in the U.S.!

Have you been watching?

No, I’m not talking about a show about dancing celebrities or some other kind of show where you watch celebrities apparently live “reality” as a housewife in the Orange County region of Los Angeles.  What could it be then?  Well, if you haven’t heard, a few of us Americans have transported ourselves into the early 20th century.  We have started drinking tea regularly,  added the words “quite” and “indeed” to our every day conversations x 2, become consumed with what Anna and Mr. Bate’s lives are going to look like with the recent changes in their lives, wondered if Lady Mary is EVER EVER EVER going to get married, and anticipated the next curious and hilarious thing the Dowager Countess is going to say.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about and consider yourself a lover of all period dramas, keep reading.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about and are looking for a new series to watch, keep reading.

If you have been an AVID follower of Downton Abbey until the end of season 2 and are eagerly anticipating season 3, keep reading.

Well, everyone…

Season 3 is here!

That is, season 3 is happening right now in the UK and all of us in America have to wait for the premiere in January 2013.

What?

You want me to wait until 2013?

No, you don’t really have to wait.

I’m thankful to have found such a wonderful source for watching in the U.S.!

Loving Now…some links

Just thought I’d share some things I’ve been enjoying lately (some you probably saw on Instagram, if not find them here) and also some things I’d like to try…

I was pleased to hang out with some wonderful ladies at the Creative Connection Event here in San Diego, hosted by Jessica and Marissa at Isari Flower Studio.  Connect here to get updates for these fab events in your area.

More recently, I was able to watch a summer entertaining demo by the fabulous duo, Valley & Co. (easy summer drink from them here) at West Elm.  I picked up a fabulous juicer, which I already used to make strawberry lemonade this last weekend. Yum. I also got to see the ladies of Flamingo Toes and We Love Citrus. Nice to see you guys!

Need to get those little kiddos to work?  Ashley’s chore charts are pretty perfect.

Just bumped a project up to the top of my list.  This west elm DIY log stool is awesome!!

I can’t wait to get chickens and Julia Rothman’s book is making it harder to wait.

Loving these hoops for sale in Megan‘s shop here.  Love them.  Totally my style.  Check out her whole fabulous shop while you’re there.  If I had a shop (soon!), it would looks like hers.  Lovely job, Megan :)

This post by Ruth really resonates with me and has been on my mind A LOT.  I’ve lost friends to the black hole that social media is.  Hint: relationships are meant to include ACTUAL people, as much as I really love my online friends. Don’t forget about your LIVE friends :).

For San Diegans’: Tried Banker’s Hill Restaurant and Bar this week.  The deviled eggs  were INCREDIBLE, as was the goat cheese and spiced strawberry bruschetta. Michelle, at the bar, can make a good cocktail.  She made me a lovely drink with a blend of whiskey and vanilla flavors.  So good.

Foot pain? Blister easily? I am thrilled to have a possible solution to my foot/nerve pain with this new Dr Scholl’s high heel product!  I get to be a product tester with this one for BzzAgent (been with them for like 7 years!) :)

Have YOU seen anything good lately?

This Week:

I feel like I was able to take a deep breath in life this week.  My husband was gone, but it was still a pretty good week.  This was only because God helped me see it that way.  This is a heavy travel time for my husband, mostly because he’s making up for a loss right now that wasn’t his fault.  It’s a tough position for him and it also demands a lot from me.  I don’t really watch TV with the exception of Project Runway and Top Chef, but I was able to watch the entire Mad Men series on netflix while he’s been gone.  That a crazy lot of episodes.  When my little buddy was crying this week , I was remembering what I said when he was a newborn babe in my arms.  I told myself, no matter what, that I would take the time to cuddle him while I could and kiss his tears away.  Someday he will smell like BO and will ask me what’s for dinner.  My sweet girl is ridiculously distracted by birds during school.  True, I created this monster by introducing her to the Audubon books, but it’s kind-of a problem.  I’ve learned to help it by stopping for bird breaks in exchange for focus.  It kinda works.  My middle guy is constantly telling me I don’t play with him which is completely not true because I build him a Lego set (sometimes the same one every day) every morning before school.  It still hurts my people-pleasing heart to hear those words but all I can do is my best.  It seems that I am constantly hearing, “Let’s get together”.  No, it’s not the song from “The Parent Trap”, it’s people that I care about who need a friend.  I love and care about each one of my friends, but it’s so hard to have really good connections with people when you only see them every now and then.  I can only have so many people over, ya know?  We do so love to entertain, but it would be nice to take a break every now and then and be the company ;)  It is great to see them when I can and this week I got to see quite a few.  So, you see, at the end of the week, we can only do our best, every day, to pick out the things that gave us the most joy instead of the most pain.  Sometimes my best feels like a failure, but this week God gave me the peace that it was enough and I am so very thankful for that.

28 is looking pretty good so far.  Oh yeah, it was my birthday this week.

Another bright side to life: I’m thankful to still be in my 20’s a bit longer…
